£10,000 for pedestrian hit by ladder

Mrs N was walking along the pavement when a worker dropped a ladder from scaffolding onto her head.  James Winterbottom of Aston Knight Solicitors quickly secured an admission of liability and then obtained specialist medical evidence to prove the nature of the injuries.  Unfortunately however the Defendant’s insurance company refused to make reasonable settlement offers and so court proceedings were issued.  After further negotiations and pressure a settlement figure was reached that was twice what the insurance company had offered and which Mrs N was delighted to receive.
