£2,400 for Criminal Assault Victim

Mr M was walking down the street when he was set upon and punched in the face and head. James Winterbottom of Aston Knight Solicitors submitted a claim to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority – a government agency set up to compensate the victims of crime.

The CICA made an offer of £1,500.00 but James did not think this was fair considering Mr M’s injuries and so he appealed the decision. The appeal was successful and the CICA increased their offer to £2,400.00, which Mr M was pleased to accept
