£3,000 for an injury at work

Neil* was injured in the course of his employment while performing his duties alongside a colleague.  They were lowering work equipment manually as part of a joint task when his colleague suddenly let go of the heavy item which fell and struck Neil on his chest with some force, causing him significant pain and discomfort.

It was clear that the accident arose from a failure by the employer to implement adequate health and safety procedures and they were vicariously liable for the actions of the colleague who caused the accident and therefore Neil was entitled to bring this claim and seek compensation.

We secured an early admission of liability, enabling us to focus our attentions on gathering medical evidence in support of our client’s claim negotiating a settlement in the sum of £3000 which Neil was delighted to accept.
